Hola hola!
This week was awesome once again! So we started off on Tuesday night when we were planning for the next day. We wanted to know where we should go to find people who'll listen to us and be ready to hear about Christ. So me and Elder Bravo basically looked at the huge map we have of our area, then slowly narrowed it down with personal prayers. We got answers to focus on what we eventually narrowed down as a square. It's just a solid little square out of our entire area and we are going to focus a lot on that square since we received this answer. And so the next day we biked and explored this area looking for people. We found so many people that are down to have lessons with us and talk about what we have to say!! It was sick. One girl opened her trailer door, and as we started introduce ourselves, she was like "Woah this is crazy. Just this morning I said that I needed some more Jesus in my life. Then you guys showed up." So she was pumped out of her mind about it. She didn't have time to meet right then so we sent the English missionaries over to her for a different time. Then when we were on our way out she shouted back inside her trailer. "Debra! Just this morning! You heard me say that right??" haha She was stoked. So we kept finding a bunch of people that day that were super open to us, and that's pretty hard to get here sometimes. But sadly, the majority of these people are English speakers so we had to refer them over to the other missionaries. Curse this country and it's English roots. haha
So Rudy, our golden guy that wants to be baptized was out of town all week so we haven't seen him. But something I didn't say about him last email was how he received his answer that the book of Mormon is true. So he was reading it for the first time, then he decided to pray about it, because the missionaries told him too. So he put the book in front of him on his bed, and he was turned to some page in second Nephi. And then when he was done praying and asking if it's true, he opened his eyes and the book was opened up to the picture of Christ in the beginning. So he was flippin out and thought someone was messing with him. haha So that's a cool story.
And then Luis and Jonathon are our other studs. Mostly Luis. He's trying super hard in reading the Book of Mormon and praying about it. He said he felt good when he prayed about it, and so I got super pumped for him. But then he was like "I'm confused though because I felt good before my prayer too" haha So we're working on it. We set a baptismal date of September 14 with him. but that's only if he receives his answer and does everything he needs first. He's so awesome though. I don't know if I said this last week but he walks over an hour to come to church and the English classes. Stud.
The next day we explored our special little square we ended up only going to like three houses in total. Because right away this guy was chilling outside of his house and we went and talked to him. His name's Manuel and he knew missionaries from the English classes like 4 months ago. And he basically just invited us in to hear the word of God! So we taught him it and he agreed to be baptized if he found the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. Then we explored a little more after him and knocked on our second door. Some white girl rejected us nicely though. Then the third door we knocked that day was Brendon. He's probably my age and we asked him his relationship with God and he said he's actually trying to figure that out right now. So we taught him, then referred him over to the English missionaries for a different time. So point is. Our prayers in where to find prepared people totally worked, and we definitely received revelation on where we need to go to find these people.
The last guy of this week was Edward. When we were looking for this guy Mario, who lived in the same house, Edward answered and invited us in right away. He's never even met with missionaries before but he basically sat down ready for a lesson. So we taught him and he's got some potential too. I could barely understand anything of that lesson though since his house was dark, and he talks in a super deep and quiet voice. And my Spanish isn't capable of understanding the language in these circumstances. haha
We biked in the rain twice this week. It was hardcore. It's fun but terrible.
So obviously we're not having success every second of the day. We get rejected a lot but it's cool. We're being blessed big time. Yesterday we were talking to these 4 Hispanic guys that were hanging out by some apartments we were knocking. And while we were talking there was a huge fight going down between a bunch of people. They were just yelling and cussing at each other like crazy(the police ended up showing up later) and they were super angry people. So when we were talking about how we share about Christ and all that with these Hispanics, they were like "I think those people need to hear about Christ" haha It was funny.
