We dropped one of our people with a baptismal date, Edgar. He never did any of his commitments so we had to drop his date. Sad story. But we'll still visit him every once in a while.
We visited a lot of less actives this week. Our ward's group of hispanics is super weak right now, so we're trying to build it up. Sometimes I wonder if half the old ladies even know what's going on... It worries me a lot. We went over to Sister Smith's house, and she had been using a Jehovah Witness bible the whole time. So she hasn't even had the right translation for who knows how long, and then when we asked her what she's been studying personally lately, she just opened up to some page in the BOM and started reading it. Then there's sister Gomez who's just straight crazy. We visited her, and tried to tell her to get a job, but I don't understand how much she gets.
But for the positive, we had a super good lesson yesterday with Yolanda. We taught her how to strengthen the family and how she can have a better relationship with her kids and husband. Jose's been a bum lately and hasn't wanted to do much good, so she's been worried about her family. She's the coolest girl ever though, and she's just gonna wait to get baptized until she feels a change in her life. So now she's just got to read, pray and go to church more.
There's a girl in our English class named Ivonne, and she's awesome! She cuts hair, and so we got haircuts from her this week, and taught her a little bit too. But she said she wanted to talk more about what we believe later, when she's not distracted by cutting hair. She told us she could feel something really good when we were over at her house, and that she felt different inside. So I'm pumped to teach her more too.
