"General Conference week rocks like always".

We taught a World Religion Class this week.

General conference rocks like always. It was sad because only one of our Hispanic investigators came to watch at the church. But because of conference we lost our two best proselyting days.

But we taught a world religion class this week! Some lady invited us last week to come and teach two of her classes, and just talk about what we believe and answer questions that they had. It was super fun. The first class was kind of lame but the second class was super interested in what we believed in and stuff. Of course they were focused on all of the little weird things, and not how we claim to be the restored church of Jesus Christ. But it was still super fun to do and there was a good amount of people who took Book of Mormon's afterward.

 

Cindy and Karen are studs and they want to be baptized, it's just that they're scared to do it right now. With everyone else that's a Hispanics here, they do cleaning, and the busiest day for cleaning is Sunday. So they haven't been to church in a while, unlike before when it was every week. So they're basically just scared because they don't want to be baptized then go inactive right away. And they've asked for Sundays off, but the boss hasn't given it. So as of now, we're just chillin, and we'll try to get them to get a another job. But since jobs are limited to like two things for Hispanics it's kind of hard...

Victor is doing really great (our black guy). We had an amazing lesson with him that was literally just him asking us questions about the gospel. He's super interested in learning more and we never have enough time with him to have a lesson like we need. But he's dang smart with the scriptures and I honestly just feel like he's testing us and seeing what we believe in a super humble and cool way. haha But I'm pretty confident once he learns enough, he'll be baptized.

We also had our other stud Efrain almost bike to general conference like 8 miles (because our members are slackers and didn't go on Saturday). He's the most humble and nice guy ever. He's a little slow because he's had a tumor in his head but he's still a pretty smart guy. But we invited him to conference and told him it was about 6 to 8 miles away, and so it might get a little tiring. But he's like "no, like it says in the bible, if you're tired, come to me and I'll give you rest" And then we told him it's possible that no other Hispanics would be there(nor us because it was in Destin) but they would still have the tv in Spanish. And then he's like "It's okay, with God I'm never alone." And I almost laughed because of how amazing of a guy and how much of a stud he is. But it turns out, they called him into work at the last minute so he couldn't go. And Saturday was his only day off.

But he also told us he wants to get baptized. It's just tough because of work also, and he can't get Sundays off either. 

We also have another guy Ceaser who has read a ton from the Book or Mormon. He read the intro and testimonies and everything up to 1 Nephi 7 in like half a week. There's like 4 other churches that visit him too, so he's really into investigating churches. I'm pretty confident that he'll come around though if he keeps reading and if pays attention to the Spirit. 

Those are the main updates for the week! Next week we find out who gets transferred and who stays!
