Week of September 22, 2014 "We set a baptismal date for Yanira!"

Que tal chambones?

Another good week gone. 

First of all, we had dinner with the mission president and his wife yesterday at his house! It was just us three and it was saweet. They're both so great and I love them a lot. Especially because they gave us filet mignon. It was sad though, Pres. Smith stopped and asked us. "OUr mission, is almost at the very bottom in baptisms per year in this region of the US. Why do you think that is?" Our mission has struggled for a long time now it's kinda sad. The average baptisms  is 1.2 per missionary per year. roughhhhh

Yesterday we had a quincy english branch family home evening. Once again, that branch is a bunch of straight old people, and they're all a lot of fun. 

We set a baptismal date with yanira! She's going to prepare to be baptized in a month. She's working like crazy right now though. THis last week she worked 6 days, and 3 of those days she worked about 18 hours or something ridiculous. 

We have a lot of studs we're teaching right now. Yanira, josue/alex(mostly josue), celo, ulises, and jose A. Jose is a new guy, we just had our 2nd lesson with him this week. We brought our branch president with us, and we had an awesome restoration lesson with him. We asked him if he had read the chapter we left him, he said, "Yeah, I read a little, about a chapter or so." THen he had a bunch of questions that proved he read a lot more than just the chapter we had left him. Then later, when we were talking about joseph smith, he siad "Oh yea, i read about him in the introduction." Then gave us the story of the angel moroni and everything. Turns out he read a bunch and he understand very well what we teach.

We also had a good lesson with our young guy josue. We teach him in english, and we did the plan of salvation. We read 2 nef 2:27 with him, and then he just sat there and thought for a second, looking at the verse. Then he said "Ok, I get it. I really needed to read that" It was an answer to whatever he needed to know at this time in his life, it was awesome. 

Lovebugs are crazyyy. They're all over the place here during this time of the year. We have a game that when we're riding our bikes we try to see who can grab the most lovebugs by the time we get to where we have to go. THey always hit me in the eyes though, and one went stragiht in my mouth the other day.
