EMAIL DATED 12-9-13

Buenos dias!
So I'm still waiting to find out if I get transferred or not. I'll let ya know when i find out....
This week was good and bad. We got some more baptismal dates, and met some solid people.
Right now our seven baptismal dates are: Daniel, Raul, Yolanda, Maria/Carlos, Javier, and Tania.
They're all pretty awesome and I love teaching them. A lot of them have something that might hold them back from making their baptismal date though...

So yeah, a lot of bad news this week. Yolanda isn't married so it's going to be a process to get that all figured out. And hopefully we can get her bum boyfriend to do it. We weren't able to teach her this week but we translated for her last p-day, then she took us out to eat. And she's going to play vball with us today. So is Fanny and Ivonne.

This week we brought out an old fart named Brother Kline to a lesson with Daniel. We were nervous because he likes to talk, and doesn't always stay on topic, but we wanted to use him to teach some cool stuff about the book of Mormon. Daniel likes history and facts, and Bro Kline knows all these crazy cool things about the Book or Mormon. Anyways, despite the fact that he talked for 45 straight minutes, I think it was a solid lesson for Daniel. Bro Kline was dropping cool fact after crazy not-coincidence about the history of the BOM. So hopefully that helped.

We met Javier this week and he's super awesome! he invited us right in, and he's read a bit of the book of Mormon before, and he's super interested and I think he's got a ton of potential.

So this week, we were thinking more about our English class members and who we want to teach the lessons to and everything. And we thought of Carmen and Mirrian. And so we decided we were going to try to teach them sometime. Then we were trying to visit some guy Ronny, but he could'nt meet right then, then we asked him if there was other Hispanics around the area. He pointed us to a trailer, so we went over and talked to a guy in that trailer. Then, as we were about to leave, Carmen walked up on the porch! It turns out she lives there, and she invited us right in. So now we're gonna pass by her trailer more often to teach her.

Only Ivonne and Rafael came to church this week. But it was awesome because a few weeks ago, we met Rafael at some soccer fields. He told us he travels a lot for work, state to state, but he'd come to church one day when he's in town. And so we forgot about him, since people tell us that all the time. But then, his daughter apparently told him she wanted to go to church yesterday, so they went! And they both liked it, and hopefully that goes somewhere.

One of our investigators got snagged and put in jail... They were super awesome too so I hope they can still stay in the states. That was the sad story of the week...

Love you guys! Have an awesome week!

Elder MacLay
