This week we had an awesome experience with seeing good things come from a day that seemed worthless. On Friday we were riding our bikes trying to visit people but we had 4 straight hours of nothing happening. As we were biking we saw a member pull up and park her car right by us. We stopped and talked with her and I didn't think anything of it at the time. We continued with our day and had little success.
Then, Sunday came, and this sister in the ward shared her testimony. In it, she described how she saw us, then left right after and saw us, then on her way to her next errand, she saw someone on the side of the road that needed a ride. She picked her up, and on the way to dropping the lady off at a fried chicken restaraunt (1 of 2000 in Quincy) she saw the other english missionaries riding their bikes outside. She said that it gave her comfort and hope that us and the other missionaries were out doing what we should be doing, so she was able to share a little bit about the church with the lady that she picked up. Our district had a baptism! The Tally Spanish guys, Elder Bravo and his comp. And Celo's still on track for Nov. 1. We made a calendar with him this week to map out what he and we have to do before then.
Elias is doing great also. We played basketball this week with him and his uncle Cesar. In other words we showed him how basketball is really supposed to be played. Murica.
We lost one of our studs Jose due to another church telling him anti mormon horror stories and things of our church. Not cool. We've been losing a lot of investigators lately and struggling with finding more. But it's for sure cooling off a little bit for us when we're on our bikes all day.
Love you so much! Have a duper super week.
Elder MacLay
