"We did a familysearch.org booth this week at the fair."

This was a super awesome week! It was terrible and awesome actually. We didn't find that many new people, and didn't have that many lessons, but it was a good week for quality. We committed four new people to a baptismal date, so we have five now. We dropped Raul's because he's going to be out of town for a while. So now we have Daniel, Jose and Yolanda, Edgar, and Jorge.

Daniel is still struggling a lot with doubts about God, but he's been reading a lot of the Book of Mormon and loves to learn. He's an awesome guy.

 

Edgar is pretty new to the whole religion thing. He doesn't understand a lot of what we teach, but he loves hearing the word of God so he likes the lessons I think. He was super scared to pray for the first time, but we got him to do it twice now...But I literally couldn't hear a word he said because he talks like a mouse when he's praying because he's kind of embarrassed. So we're working on him.

Jose and Yolanda are husband and wife. They're super legit and I feel good about them. Yolanda is super smart and understands a ton, and they're both just super awesome people. 

Jorge is still doing great. He didn't come to church like he said but he's agreed to baptism and I think he'll progress pretty well.

 

We also met this girl named Dania this week who has actually come to the English class once before. She had met with missionaries before in Honduras and from what it sounded like, she wasn't baptized because she moved. But we haven't taught her or anything we just contacted her in the park.

 

We did a familysearch.org booth this week at the fair. We basically tried to get people to get interested in doing their family history work and offering free help to do it. So that's a reason we didn't have a ton of time for lessons this week or anything. People are scared of missionaries though so it wasn't crazy successful. They basically took one look at our white shirts and ties and ran away. We'd be like "Hey sir have you ever done any family history work or wondered about your ancestors?" And some people would just not even listen but see we're Mormon and be like "No thank you, I'm already saved." haha The mission president ended up giving us permission to wear normal clothes by the last day of the fair. So that helped a little.
