"We got some hurricane warnings for the weekend!"

This week was pretty decent! We got some hurricane warnings for the weekend!! So I had to get all prepared for that since I didn't have a 72 hour kit... But it didn't happen anyways. There was just a lot of rain yesterday. Which is good because we were talking to Sister Smith, one of our Hispanic, less active members, and she was telling us not to worry about hurricanes. She lives in a trailer, and she was (before the hurricane was supposed to happen) telling us that there's nothing to worry about after we told her we might have to evacuate. We asked her if she would evacuate if the hurricane was bad, and she said even if it was a level 4 hurricane, there's no reason to worry when you have faith in the Lord. haha So we thought that was going to be the last we saw of Sister Smith but luckily no hurricane came.

 

Raul called us from Mississippi and he's going to be working a lot, so his baptism isn't going through. That was a huge bummer. So now we just have Daniel with a baptismal date for the 27th of October. It's not a super sure thing though, like Raul's was. So pray for Daniel. 

 

We met a solid guy named Jorge this week! He was super interested, he's met with missionaries before 11 years ago in Honduras. And he's super awesome and has a lot of potential and I've got a lot of hope he'll be baptized in not too long from now. It was cool how me met him. we were going to knock some doors, and so we went to the street. But instead of knocking right away, for whatever reason we just started walking, and then we turned down another street, and never even knocked any doors. We turned down the street and were led right to Jorge who was hanging out outside. So that was really cool.

 

So normally a bunch of Hispanics all live in the same house. But they all work so much that there's mostly only one person in the house at a time if you're lucky. But yesterday we knocked on this one house where a guy named Manuel lives, and there was a whole bunch of people home! We ended up teaching like 6 people at one time, which isn't normal for us. It was just a bunch of friends and a couple married couples, so that was cool to be able to teach a lot of people at once. We don't teach a lot of families because most people come here alone, or with a sibling just to work.

 

That's pretty much it for this week... We didn't have as much time this week because of General Conference on Saturday and Sunday which is basically the best two days for us. But yep, have an awesome week!
